Privacy policy

Who we are

Bulletin PR Ltd is a communications consultancy specialising in financial services and academia.

We are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our clients, business contacts, media contacts and website visitors. We have written this Privacy Policy to provide detailed information on when and why we hold personal information, how we use it and the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others.

Media contacts

A core part of our business as a PR consultancy is to communicate with people in the media and supply them with stories and press releases relevant to their areas of interest. We believe this is a legitimate interest both for Bulletin and for our clients and that it is also in the interest of media contacts to hear interesting and relevant stories.

To help us keep up to date, we source media contacts from Roxhill, a media contact database service provider (Roxhill’s privacy policy can be viewed here: https://roxhillmedia.com/privacy-policy). Details provided include name, organisation, work email, work phone number, LinkedIn, Twitter, current role, career history and areas of interest.

We use this information to provide stories and press releases to individually and specifically selected media contacts. We commit to ensuring that the information we send is relevant and targeted and that contact details are not used in an excessive way.

We may share relevant media contact details securely with our clients to let them know which journalists we have contacted.

Client and business contact details

As a client or business contact of Bulletin PR Ltd, you should be aware that your contact details will be stored on our secure networks. We take the security of such information very seriously and have policies in place to ensure it. Please contact us if you would like to know more about our security policies.

We use your information for the administration of the work we undertake for or with you. We do not pass on your details to other organisations and businesses except for the purposes of the administration of your account or unless legally required to do so.

We maintain lists of client and business contacts, including information on name, organisation, role and email. For this we use CRM provider Insightly, which complies with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework and has certified its adherence to the Privacy Shield Principles. Insightly has servers in various countries, which may be outside of the EU.

Occasional newsletters/marketing

We may email clients and business contacts with occasional newsletters to keep them informed of relevant developments in the industry and in relation to Bulletin, our work and our insights.

Marketing emails for our academic training courses may be sent to current and previous clients and carefully selected prospective clients, whose contact details are sourced from university websites.

We believe these communications are in the legitimate interest of our business, and they are intended to be useful and informative for our clients and business contacts. You can unsubscribe to these mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing contact@bulletin.co.uk.

We commit to ensuring that these communications are relevant and not excessive. We also commit to removing your details from our mailing list as soon as you express a wish not to receive further communications, in which case we will keep only enough detail on our records to ensure that we do not email you again.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks, using industry-standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our communications. MailChimp, whose servers are located in the US, complies with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework and has certified its adherence to the Privacy Shield Principles. Please see MailChimp’s privacy notice for more information.
